Air Liquide Smoke Hood PBE

Designed for safety and ease-of-use, the Air Liquide 15-40F-80 hood is an advanced protective breathing equipment item for flight crewmembers that allows them to operate safely in an environment with toxic gases or smoke.

Traditional PBE's produce oxygen by means of corrosive and potentially dangerous chemicals like KO₂, which also generates a significant amount of heat during operation. Air Liquide's advanced PBE's do not contain any chemical oxygen generators, but use compressed aerospace oxygen instead.

This means that Air Liquide's 15-40F-80 PBE's are classified as UN3072 class 9, which means they may be transported aboard passenger aircraft. Other PBE's that use corrosive oxidizers such as potassium superoxide are classified as UN3356 and can only be transported on cargo aircraft, leading to limited shipping options and potentially higher freight costs.

The compact hood is a completely self-contained unit without exterior fittings or bulky attachments, allowing the wearer maximum freedom of movement and flexibility in emergency situations.
