The Aircraft Cabin Safety Briefing
For your comfort and safety.... A small statement about your cabin crew that is so often overlooked by passengers busy travelling the world in modern air travel. For approximately every 50 passengers there is a requirement for at least one cabin crew member who is not only there to look after passengers but to manage any emergency situation that may occur. Always demonstrated on departure, the inflight safety briefing is a legal requirement for airlines and a quick look around the cabin during the briefing can often reveal mixed attention from passengers.
So what can airlines do to maintain the interest of passengers for these all important few minutes? Many crew comment on how passengers comment "I am a frequent flyer, i know the drill" and other passengers who talk through or simply ignore the briefing.
With the increase in In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems in the aircraft cabin promoting the safety demonstration though the screens is not a new idea however in true "Virgin" style, Virgin America have recently launched their take on the safety briefing video.
The Virgin America take on a theme, with catchy backing tune and unique presentation of the safety briefing certainly catches the attention. So we thought we would share it!
And if you watched the clip you now know all about the emergency equipment and exits aboard their Airbus A320 aircraft (however that certainly doesn't mean it is the same for other aircraft and airlines!)
Whatever the aircraft, whatever the airline, your crew are there for your comfort and safety. Even though they're not dancing the safety demo in the aisles!
