CPR manikins for crew first aid training
There are no hospitals at 35,000 ft and dealing with a medical emergency onboard an aircraft is an eventuality that flight attendant training must include. One essential element of cabin crew first aid training is resuscitation training (or CPR) which can be learned and practised in the classroom using a specialised CPR manikin.
For training staff delivering CPR training there is a requirement for a portable unit that can be easily set up, is lightweight to carry but still gives the crew a realistic overview of the CPR procedure necessary to provide first aid in the cabin. It should also be considered that the patient may not be an adult but a child or infant, which requires further specialist knowledge.
Adding to the range of equipment for cabin crew first aid training, has recently extended its product range to include a range of lightweight and easily deployable CPR manikins.
Initially two variants are offered:
All the resuscitation manikins come with a built in electronic CPR monitor (to give feedback to students and trainers as to the correct rate of compressions), an audible internal clicker to indicate sufficient level of pressure when performing CPR and all units are also supplied with a protective carry bag.
Over the next few weeks further equipment for cabin crew medical training will be added to the Cabin Crew Safety portfolio to compliment this initial range of first aid manikins.
