Flame Free Aircraft Fire Rig Starters

Safely igniting an aircraft hot fire simulator can require flame based equipment, which means a potential health and safety issue for the training staff controlling the real fire trainer. At Cabin Crew Safety we have produced a battery powered, flame free solution to igniting real fire trainers.

Electronic Fire Starter for Aircraft Real Fire Training Rigs

While real fire training is an essential part of airline cabin crew training and fire training rigs offer a controlled way of presenting new and recurrent cabin undergoing training with worse case fire situations aboard a commercial airliner.

As well as offering real fire training rigs and as part of their standard product portfolio, Cabin Crew Safety were recently commissioned by an airline customer to develop and deploy a safe way of starting the propane based fire training scenarios. The brief was simple, develop a safe and flame free way for flight attendant instructors to ignite the fire training rig scenarios.

As a result Cabin Crew Safety developed and delivered the fire training 'wand', which offers a portable, battery based, electrical ignition source that can ignite the LPG propane gas without presenting any health and safety issues to the instructor.

The fire ignition wands run on two AA type batteries and offers the following features:

  • Battery powered (AA) means rechargeable and environmentally friendly batteries can be used.
  • Integrated LED torch means the instructor can illuminate dark areas to see where they are igniting
  • Stainless steel barrel, for low degradation in harsh outdoor environments.
  • Simple push button switch operation/
  • Custom graphics for the fire ignition handset, branded for your academy or airline.
  • Flame retardant case for drop resistance.
  • Rubberised case, for environmental sealing and drop resistance.
  • Ruggedised internal construction for the arduous requirements of flight attendant fire training
  • One year return to base warranty against any manufacturing defects.

The team at Cabin Crew Safety regularly undertake projects for airlines who have a need for specialist equipment or systems and will undertake such projects to solve specific problems. We are always happy to hear of your flight attendant training requirements or needs.
