IATA March Airline Passenger Traffic Results
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently published the international traffic results for March 2011. Year on year passenger demand growth slowed from 5.8% in February to 3.8%.
The impact of the events in Japan has its impact on global international traffic as well as traffic in the Asia-Pacific region. Asia-Pacific carriers saw a traffic loss of more than 2%, North America 1% and Europe declined by 0.5%. Specifically Japan.s internal domestic market saw a 22% fall in demand.
